Mayra previously worked as a paralegal in a civil, administrative and criminal law firm. She is currently working in the Intellectual Property area of the firm. 

During her studies she participated in a research stay at the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas of UNAM, and also in an academic exchange, where she took some classes of international law and copyright.

As well, she did social service at Centro de Justicia para la Mujer in Guadalajara. 

Mayra has also taken updating and specialization courses in intellectual property, and music and audiovisual law.
